Cody & Sioux
Wrangling In Western Wear
Quotes:
“There’s all kinds of amazing boss lady role models out there.”
Now is the time to look at your goals and desires head on and take them on at full speed. “ There’s all kinds of amazing boss lady role models out there and it is really rewarding to work for yourself. Keep pursuing your goals until you’re doing what you love everyday, no matter what that may be.”
Located in Inglewood in Calgary, Alberta
Styles are changing on the Prairies and in the business world. Alex Callaghan and Ingrid Schulz, the Mother-Daughter team, have made the local Calgary boutique, Cody & Sioux, he forefront of ‘Modern West.’ An empowered pair, these women are not only changing the face of the West, they are inspiring women to make an individual mark in business.
Ingrid Schulz founded Cody & Sioux with a mis- sion to do what others were not. “We wanted to affect change and re-introduce the West to the city again.” Ingrid is a woman who wanted to stray away from tacky checkered shirts, to digging down to what the West truly stands for. Believing that the West is about individuality and wide open spaces, Ingrid carries these values into all areas of her life. She is a mother, multi-business owner and inspiration for women to bring their goals to fruition.
Affecting change and making a mark, Ingrid and Alex defy the stereotype of Western wear. These women approach Western wear with a desire to “re- invent it, with a modern twist.” More so, this is how they approach women in business.
Ingrid inspired her daughter to found Ragweed Clothing, “…all my life I’ve seen her be the boss and owner of her own company and it didn’t seem like there was any reason I couldn’t do the same.”
The path ahead is different for everyone. Choose the path you want now, not where you think you should go. “I would say, now more than ever is the time to follow your dreams, if you put your mind to it, there’s not much a woman can’t do anymore!”
