Show Strength Through Kindness
I want to share a fable about strength and sharing your strengths to make our world brighter.
On a balmy spring day an young female woman was heading down a path in a park. Above her the Wind and Sun were discussing who was the stronger force. They decided to test this power by seeing who could make the woman take off her coat. Whoever got the woman to take off her coat would be declared the strongest.
The Wind goes first and blowing with all its strength. The woman become scold and button sup her coat. The Wind keeps blowing and the woman only gets colder.
It is now the Sun’s turn and the Sun sees the woman is uncomfortable in her travels. The Sun wants to be strong by protecting the woman.
The Sun comes out from behind the cloud where it was waiting for its turn, and shines it’s rays brightly down upon the woman. The woman is relieved from the heat of the Sun’s rays and takes off her coat with a smile.
Showing strength does not come from being powerful or harsh, but rather strength comes from being kind.
It gives me a very warm feeling to see strong and kind people coming together to grow as individuals, to help each other grow and to grow their communities and families. So I encourage you to warm those around you by shining your rays bright upon this world.
